How to lock a PDF
- Upload a PDF you own or are allowed to modify.
- Enter and confirm a strong password.
- Choose Encrypt PDF and download the protected file.
- Open the downloaded PDF in a reader to confirm it requests the password.
Important notes
Keep your password safe: we cannot recover forgotten passwords. Processing runs in your browser using the WebAssembly PDF engine; its engine is served directly from ToolNivora. Very large files may require more device memory.
